Experiencing Lag While Recording with Lens on Android?

If you are seeing a slight delay between your lip movements and what’s on your screen while recording with a lens, don’t worry — your final SalesMail video is not affected.

Why This Happens

This preview lag can occur on some Android devices when using the Advanced Camera when using SalesMail lenses such as beauty filters or virtual backgrounds. These features require extra processing power and can slow down the live preview, especially on older or lower-end phones.

What Devices Are Affected

You’re more likely to notice lag on:

  • Entry-level or older Android phones (e.g., Samsung A-series under A54)

  • Devices with less than 4GB of RAM

  • Phones without specialized AR hardware

The Good News

✅ Your final video is fully synced
✅ Audio and video stay in alignment
✅ Effects appear properly in the recorded file

The delay is only in what you see while recording — not in what your viewer will see.

How to Reduce Lag

  • Go to Account > Preferences in the SalesMail app

  • Toggle off Advanced Camera to disable live effects

  • For the smoothest experience with lenses, we recommend:

    • Samsung Galaxy S23/S24

    • Google Pixel 7/8

    • OnePlus 11 or newer
